A. A Forum is an online discussion place on a site. It is also sometimes known as discussion board. It may contain several categories, consisting of discussions, threads and individual posts. The forum home page has a list of categories and topics, with basic statistics for each - including the number of threads and posts, and which member posted the most recent message.
Q2. What is a Thread/Topic and how do I start one?
A. A thread/topic is a conversation between members or the users of this site. Each thread/topic starts out as a single post and grows as more individual posts are added by different users. To start new thread/topic simply click on the “Start Discussion/Ask Question” button. Please note that to read a thread/topic you do not have to necessarily be a registered member of this site, however to post a reply or to start a new thread/topic, you have to be a registered member of this site.
Q3. How do I register on this site?
A. You can register on this site by clicking here. You will be asked to choose a user name, password and enter a valid email address. In addition there will be some other fields to which you will be invited to respond. Some will be mandatory while others are optional. Once you complete the registration form, please click on the link on the 'activation email' sent to your email address. Once you have done this you will be registered.
Q4. I didn’t receive the activation email, what to do now?
A. Please check your spam folders once if you don’t find the activation email in your inbox, there are chances that the activation email would have gone to the spam folder due to various spam filters of your email service provider. If you don’t find the activation email in spam folders then please write a mail mentioning the issue to firstname.lastname@example.org and our team will be happy to assist you in resolving the issue.
Q5. How do i thank a member or view a member’s profile?
A. You can thank the member by clicking on the up vote/Thumbs up button on the right hand side of the reply bar. You can click on the username to view a member’s profile.
Q6. Can I start a topic/thread or reply on a topic/thread anything apart from recipes or food?
A. No!!! We request all our member’s to keep the discussion revolving around foods and recipes and not use the forum for anything other than stated. Any topics/threads deviating from foods and recipes can be flagged by other members and brought to the notice of admins/moderators to be removed immediately.
Q7. My posts are not displaying in the forum immediately, why?
A. Any posts by a new member are subject to the approval of moderators/admins on the forum. Approval generally happens within an hour of posting except during non-peak hours. If the posts have taken longer than the usual time required for approval, kindly make sure that the post does not violate forum rules such as spam, irrelevant content etc.
Q8. How do i report a member/topic/thread?
A. TrayStory.com expects its members/users to treat the fellow members with utmost respect and treat with them in the same way they expect to be treated. Any members using offensive/derogatory language on the forum or anywhere in the site will be banned permanently. Members/Users posting irrelevant content for the first time will be warned and if repeated, their membership will be revoked until further notice.TrayStory.com requests its members/users to bring to its notice any such activities through email at email@example.com. You can also report irrelevant topic/thread by flagging it which shall help the admin/moderators to remove that content from the site.
Q9. How can I add Images/Videos in the forum for other members to respond?
A. You can add an image either by choosing to upload it as an attachment or copy the source code of the image/video and paste it through the options available in the editor. Sample here.
